Training Details

Total Duration: 100 hours

This training is conducted entirely in French. Here's the breakdown of the hours:

  • These 75 in-person hours will be dedicated to both theory and practice, spread over five weekends. They will help you build the confidence and skills needed to lead classes clearly, safely, and effectively.

  • You'll observe experienced instructors during live Pilates Reformer classes. This will give you insight into teaching styles, class flow, and how to manage different levels of students. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn key techniques and cues to apply in your own teaching.

  • During these hours, you'll have the chance to teach community classes under supervision. It’s a great way to practice guiding a group, build your communication skills, and get comfortable in a teaching environment while receiving valuable support from instructors.

  • These 8 hours will be spent attending classes at Pilates Club as part of your practical training. You'll experience the classes from a participant's perspective, gaining a deeper understanding of movement, alignment, and how to apply what you've learned in real-life settings.

  • These final hours are dedicated to assessments and practical exercises. You’ll demonstrate your knowledge and teaching abilities, with constructive feedback to help refine your skills before you complete the certification.

5 weekends:

Each weekend consists of 15 hours of in-person training

  • Friday evening: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

  • Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

  • Module 1: The Foundations of Pilates Reformer

In this module, you will discover the origins and fundamental principles of Pilates, along with an introduction to anatomy as it applies to movement. You will learn the basic techniques on the Reformer safely, while also being introduced to teaching and communication techniques.

  • Module 2: Basic and Intermediate Exercises

In this module, you will learn beginner and intermediate exercises on the Reformer, as well as how to develop mini-sequences of exercises. You will practice teaching in pairs, focusing on movement analysis, verbal cues, and postural correction. These skills apply to Modules 2, 3, and 4.

  • Module 3: Intermediate and Advanced Exercises

In this module, you will learn intermediate and advanced exercises on the Reformer. You will deepen your understanding of building and sequencing exercises with fluidity, progression, and safety. You will also discover how to adapt exercises to suit different levels and specific student issues.

  • Module 4: Deepening and Accessories

This module revisits the exercises, principles, and anatomy of Pilates. You will learn to use accessories such as the ball, elastic bands, weights, and the magic circle. You will also learn how to structure a complete class, manage time, transitions, and rhythms, while designing creative sequences that integrate these accessories.

  • Module 5: Teaching and Feedback

In this module, we will recap and deepen all the skills you've acquired. You will have the opportunity to design and teach a full class in front of a group, allowing you to put your knowledge into practice. We will review your teaching, technical, and theoretical skills, while actively preparing you for the final exam through personalized feedback focused on continuous improvement.

  • Assessment Weekend – Demonstrate your knowledge and teaching skills through practical and written exams, receiving feedback for further growth.

Prerequisites

  • You should have a solid grasp of the core Pilates concepts: mastering the art of controlled movement, understanding how to align your body correctly, and using breath to support the exercises. These principles are essential for teaching and practicing Pilates effectively.

  • We recommend a minimum of 6 months of consistent Pilates practice to ensure you’re familiar with the exercises and the physical demands of the practice. This experience will also allow you to connect the theory with practice during the training.

  • While this training is designed to teach you all the essentials, having some prior experience with Reformer exercises will be beneficial. You should be comfortable with the basic and intermediate movements on the Reformer, including common exercises like the Footwork, Frog, and Roll-ups. This will help you learn more quickly and understand the progression of exercises.

  • A fundamental understanding of anatomy, especially muscles and joints used in Pilates, is important. You'll need to know basic muscle groups, especially those involved in core stability, as well as how the body moves. For those without formal anatomy training, we recommend reviewing a beginner anatomy resource (such as a book, video, or online course) before starting.
